رومئو و ژولیت تراژدی نوشته‌شده توسط ویلیام شکسپیر در اوایل کار اوست که در مورد دو عاشق ناکام است که در نهایت مرگ پایان کارشان می‌شود. این نمایشنامه یکی از محبوب‌ترین نمایشنامه‌های شکسپیر در زمان حیاتش می‌باشد و در کنار هملت یکی از نمایشنامه‌هایی است که بر روی پرده رفته است. امروزه از شخصیت‌های اصلی داستان به‌عنوان عاشقان آرمانی یاد می‌شود.
